Guiding you towards a more fulfilling life
Hello I'm Laura.
My mission, as your counsellor, is to create a space for you to be heard. I believe that everyone has the potential to create a positive change in their lives, and I am here to support you on your journey towards personal growth and transformation.
Life is challenging and can be stressful. I will help you navigate through these difficult times, equipping you with the tools and space for you to feel more aware of your needs and take positive steps forward. You are not alone.
I have successfully worked with a number of different clients facing difficulties in their lives. I offer a warm, calm approach during a counselling journey. Turning up to your first session can be scary; I ensure I provide you with a safe space to talk openly and freely without judgement.
I follow an integrative model which means I use a blend of counselling therapies when working with you to best suit your needs. I will always put you at the heart of the counselling process as we explore what brings you to counselling and the goals you would like to reach with these sessions.
I specialise in helping clients with managing anxiety and stress and support clients in challenging automatic negative thoughts in order to take positive steps to move forward.
I also have experience with working with clients who are experiencing grief, bereavement and loss. As well as people who are at a crossroads in their life, and are often feeling lost.
I am here to support you in building self-awareness and exploring with you the tools to become in control of your life once again.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I have completed my Level 4 Diploma in Integrative counselling and have had experience with over 30 clients in the past two years.
If you cannot find an answer to your question below, please reach me at lauracarlyon.counselling@gmail.com and I'd be happy to help.
If you reach out, I will come back to you to arrange a free, no-obligation 20 minute phone call where we can discuss what has brought you to counselling. I will explain my approach in order to support you with the difficulties you are facing. It will be an open, honest and confidential chat. If you don't feel like I'm the right fit then that's totally ok. This is about what works for you.
We will agree a time that works best for you for the first session. This will be held either by zoom or via phone depending on your preference. Sessions run for 50 minutes. In our first session we will discuss what difficulties you are facing. We will work together to establish the goals you would like to reach on your counselling journey. This is your time and your space and I am there to support and guide you on your journey.
Sessions will run weekly for 50 minutes. The amount of sessions you will need varies from client to client and your personal goals. We will regularly check in within the sessions to gather your thoughts on this and how you are feeling the sessions are going.
Each session costs £55 for 50 minutes and payment will need to be made prior to the session.
Each session is completely confidential. We will go through the ethical guidelines I adhere to in the first session and you will be able to ask any questions you have. In my work I always adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) ethical guidelines to which I am both members of.
